We help you make and print your newspaper
Here are some tips to get the best color rendering for your newspaper.

PHOTOS

Photos and artwork choice are important for your newspaper.
For best results, choose clear and contrasted images to make sure they really stand out.
Dark areas will be less contrasted in your printed newspaper.
You can edit the exposure and contrast of your images to ensure a good range of mid tones.
Here's an example:

Tips

  • Choose clear images with contrast.
  • Definition between 150dpi and 600dpi.
  • Avoid large areas of flat colour.
  • Make sure that text and details contrast well with the background.

COLORS

We use CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) profile for color rendering.
Each color is made from these 4 primary inks.

To ensure a better color rendering, we recommend to convert your file with the CMYK profile ISOnewspaper26v4.
While exporting your PDF file, you can select this CMYK profile.
If you don't mind colors, you don't have to do anything, we have an automatic CMYK conversion tool.

Tips

  • Most colors will be less intense on paper than on screen.
  • Simple colors are reliable - it's easy to predict how they print.
  • Newsprint is thin, so we can't print a true deep black.

PRINTING FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Digital printing is an industrial process which offers newspapers at an affordable price. It's quick, flexible and reliable.

Digitally printed newspapers are perfect for small and medium runs. Out factory is eco-friendly thanks to the ink and paper we use.
The lack of solvent leaves the ink migrate into the paper, which will provide less vibrant colors than with offset technologies.

Newsprint is a thin paper. The print quality is not as good as with other kinds of paper (magazines, for example). Colors don't look as bright and vibrant as they do on screen.

Digital printing uses an inkjet technology. There may be fine lines or stripes visible on your newspaper, these are only noticeable over large areas of flat colour.
